In recent years, there has been a significant rise in the number of Black doulas, marking a powerful shift in the birth support landscape. They play a crucial role in providing emotional, physical, and educational support to expectant parents, particularly Black mothers and families. Beyond the realm of birth support, they are becoming champions of cultural advocacy, promoting equity, and fighting against racial disparities in maternal and infant health.
